Sora, Captain Jack, and Mr. Incredible

Here are the guys dressed up and ready to go show off their costumes. Matthew is dressed up as Sora from his favorite video game Kingdom Hearts. That Keyblade he has is Soras weapon in the game. Colby is Mr. Incredible from the movie Incredibles and Shane is Jack Sparrow from the movie Pirates of the Carribean.

Matthew just finished carving his pumpkin. He did most of the work himself. I think Ted helped him a little.

Catching up with friends is fun. Here are the kids with close family friends. One of the boys is in College and didn't come to visit this weekend so he isn't in this picture.

whistle while you work
This morning I had a dream that a snake was chasing Colby. In my dream he ended up getting bit by a rattlesnake. I could hear the snake hissing and his tail rattling. When I was growing up I was around rattlesnakes alot since we lived right next to the desert. So, that sound is very recognizable. When I opened my eyes Teds face was very close to mine and I realized that his snoring was all of the hissing and rattling in my dream. It was a scary dream, but after I woke up it was funny that the snake was Ted snoring. I have been soooo tired latley. Normally I don't need too much sleep but, we've been working so hard at trying to get the house straightened up I've actually gotten exercise. Matthew had a semi-break from some of his classes last week so he was able to help me lots. Today I got the bathroom all scrubbed out (We are having guests spend the night) Matthew helped in the kitchen and with the kids. One extra set of hands to help does make a difference.

 watching B A R N E Y
We've all had a pretty interesting day. We've had two little visitors so that has been pretty exciting for all of us. I happened to catch some pictures of a few of the things they did today. I didn't catch pictures of backyard fun. They spent lots of time running and swinging. They also drew lots and lots and colored pictures of Dora (for the girls) and Diego (for the boys). That new table is so great. Its big enough for little kid crafts and I'm sure we will find out lots of other good uses. I am posting one picture of the office. Look at the little kids running in the bottom part of the picture. Ted is hanging the last of the shelves. We still would like a new flat monitor and a little less tool clutter. We are still working on CORDs and getting them hidden and out of the way. Its getting there. We also have to get all of those collectible Matchbox and Dinky cars that we have been storing in the attic to fill the shelves with.

Yum this food is delicious

Yum YUM I'm glad I got the old office cleared out so quick. I gave the BIG desk to someone who needed a desk. They have this Recycling group called Freecycle that you can give away unwanted stuff. I have given away stuff a few times. I have gotten two things. One was a Ikea chair and another was a Sulley costume. To check out Freecycle or to see if there is a group in your area CLICK HERE You know me I by default recycle because I shop at used goods stores. So freecycle gives me another option. Since I got the room cleared out it makes a nice place to eat for when we have company.

New Room

Old Picture revitalized
We don't know what to call the Dining room since it used to be the Office. I just feel like I've been through a whirlwind the past few days. Now we have a new office. Yes I do know that I haven't posted pictures of it yet. I plan to I'm just waiting for a few shelves to be hung. (The picture I posted below of the old office isn't the greatest but I'm uploading pictures to Flickr with the kids happy in them) I also haven't posted any pictures of Shane and Colby's room but you can see glimpses HERE and, HERE. For those of you who don't know this already if you click on the words in smaller type that takes you to links to different things. Example all times I typed HERE above is a link. Also if pictures are ever small like the one above with the Old Office circled in yellow, you can click on those pictures to see a larger version.

What to call it?

October 23rd

Oct 23rd
Well Matthew and I have spent all day relocating all of the books to the new office. The biggest thing left is to clean out the desk and find places for all of that stuff. I dread the junk drawer, but at least when its empty there won't be another drawer to let junk up. I think its going to take some time to get all of the things out of the desk. (At least more time then I thought)

Internet working and everything
Here is my computer set up in the new office. Ted's is right next to mine. We have wires and stuff all over the place, but its getting there. Now we are relocating all of those books we own and emptying out our junky desk. We are on our way but I'm dreading the organizing and straightening up stuff. I can finally put the paint brush down. Well at least until we start on the kitchen and bathrooms.

October 21st

And you thought lime green was weird I snuck away to the computer to post. I didn't get any pictures of the kids today because we've been too busy trying to finish up the office. From the picture you can tell we still have alot to do. Ted worked hard getting the crown up. We have to paint it again in some spots for touch up. Tomorrow I'm touching up the green walls too. Well I'm off to paint the door trim.

Yummy soup see the MUSSEL
Yesterday we had a busy day, and today was pretty much the same. I got to hear an awesome speaker Tim Echols last night. He was very inspiring. It is always great to hear a good speaker. I think what hit me most was just how we can impact the future through our kids. Ted also came to hear him speak and we even went to dinner with alot of our friends afterwards. I didn't get to update yesterday because we were gone. Today was busy also. We had class and they made a soup. It was a fish base, with Mussels, Scallops, Shrimp, Crab and a few other things. Shane played with his friends while Matthew and his classmates made the soup. I take both Colby and Shane along, but today Ted kept Colby. They took a little break from the day and ate out at a Sushi resturant. See video below. (Video was shot with Ted's camera phone so it isn't the greatest quality)

3rd Sunday

Privacy is great isn't it
Ted got alot of work done today, he painted trim, molding, and the new desk. He also just got done hanging new blinds in the kitchen. I'll wait to post "NEW OFFICE" pictures when the office finished. I was supposed to help him, but he ended up doing all the work on his own. I did alot of the Kilz stuff yesterday. He also took Colby to the Er on Saturday morning. (See Ted's phone pictures from the ER below) He had a small accident. We had opened up the office (Its usually closed) Colby went in there while Ted was on the phone and I had stepped out of the room for a minute. He stuck his finger in one of the electrical sockets. We didn't know at first. At first we thought he had gotten pinched on something. He pointed to where he stuck his finger and the Dr.s office said to take him to the Emergency room. He had two tiny burn marks. One entrance and one exit wound from the electricity. The Er drs weighed him, took his blood pressure, and put neosporin on him. Now I get to call the Dr. tomorrow to see if we even need to go in for a follow up. All weekend I have been trying to post a video on the web. It is a video of Shane driving a Go Cart. I got it up on Youtube with No sound. I finally got a lower quality video uploaded on Google with sound.

Put your money where your mouth is

Just broke out of the mange

We've been collecting old Cowboy stuff and have had these leather frames for awhile. We finally finished staining the shevles we bought a long time ago and put all of the Cowboyish type stuff on the shelves and hung it up in the Playroom. The playroom's theme is supposed to be western, we just have a few things that are western, but one day I'm sure it will be filled with stuff. I put a Cowboy picture of Matthew from preschool in the smallest frame and I have two other pictures that I think I will put in the other frames. Mcdonalds drive thru toy has been the thing latley. All the kids got it out last night at our lifegroup and Shane and Colby got it back out today. Colby didn't want to move the card from in front of his mouth thats what the grumpy lip picture is all about. Also maybe my neighbors have seen my blog because they put TIGGER up today. The kids were so excited. Shane said yeah they put Tigger back up.Colby kept saying I love Tigger he is my friend. Mommy why did they put that Monster up in their yard (He was talking about the Gargoyle)They still have the Gargoyle up in the main part of the yard. Now Tigger is off to the side. By the way Brandi, Ted says hi. You made him feel like a celebrity, next time ask for his autograph. He feels a little Blurbolike. I'll recognize you when I see you, and I'll ask for your autograph.

We had a pretty busy day today but I managed to take the camera with me so I got a few pictures. The kids had a great time getting together with their friends. I took along some stencils and they had fun making drawings for soldiers. The lady whose house we went to today is putting together care packages along with lots of other people. I got the last picture of Matthew playing the piano(keyboard)at home today.

Eating in the cabin

I didn't get a chance to edit any video because I had errands to run and a baby shower to go to. Ted got home a little early so I got to shop KID free. AHHHH what a joy that can be. No matter how we try to divide or whatever, whichever one of the kids I end up taking is the one to give me problems that day. Last time I tried to take Colby by himself to Sams he cried because of something about the cart. Shane is hopping through the store touching everything, and asking a bazillion questions. Matthew is okay by himself (For the most part on most days) but add a brother and they all fight. Anyways back to my kid free shopping time. I ended up getting the stuff I needed and came home to make a snack for the baby shower I went to tonight. So, that is where my free time (If there ever is free time) went today. I only found a few minutes late this evening to load pictures on Flickr and post. I promise I will get around to the video but just not tonight. The pictures above are: 1. Weekend in Helen

Group Shot
Hot Tub time
We just got back from an annual family gathering in Helen, Georgia. We stayed in the same WONDERFUL cabin we had last year. This year we took one of Matthew's friends also. Check back this week, for some video clips. Ted got some of the kids riding go carts and bumper boats. I'll take out some time to edit those and get them up. I had a great relaxing time. Colby ended up being fussy alot of the weekend, so I spent alot of time with him in the cabin ALONE! We even got to have the jaccuzzi all to ourselves. We only stayed in a few minutes since he is still young and I didn't want him to overheat. After that he fell asleep for a nap and I watched HGTV and the Food Network. I haven't gotten to watch those channels much before, and I relaxed and started making myself a necklace with Black seed beads. In case thes pictures look familiar, these are practically repeats of the pictures we took last year. I thought it would be neat to take the same pictures over to see how much everyone has changed. Colby hadn't even had his first haircut yet. The only thing we missed this year was having Aggie with us, like she was last year. I'll be adding more Helen pictures tomorrow. For the links to the OLD pictures from last year click below.
